Safe Fleet Transit introduced a new connected operational-intelligence platform at the 2026 American Public Transportation Association TRANSform Conference and Expo, held Oct. 4 through Oct. 7 in Chicago, designed to help transit agencies make faster, more confident decisions and featuring interactive demonstrations of the supplier's artificial-intelligence-powered innovations.

The launch puts Safe Fleet Transit into a growing segment of companies offering software layers that consolidate and interpret the data streams already produced by modern transit fleets. The supplier framed the product as a decision-support tool rather than another data dashboard.

"Agencies don't need more data, they need certainty in critical moments," said Safe Fleet President Mike Hagan. "Bringing together video, telematics and safety systems, with intelligent analysis and AI-driven insight, helps transit agencies identify issues earlier, respond faster and make decisions with greater confidence."

What does the platform do?

According to launch materials at the Chicago expo, the platform consolidates video, telematics and safety feeds and applies intelligent analysis across them. Safe Fleet Transit's stated goal is to help agencies identify issues earlier and respond faster during operational incidents.

The tool processes the consolidated streams through an AI layer and produces event-level output. The supplier described the architecture as a way to give operators a unified record of each incident rather than forcing them to reconcile data from separate vendor portals.

How does the integration work?

The platform combines three categories of input that transit agencies already operate. Onboard video provides a visual record of incidents. Telematics contributes location, speed and engine-state signals. Existing safety systems — including hardware for collision avoidance and driver monitoring — add a third stream.

Most agencies currently view these systems through separate vendor dashboards. The platform integrates them at the software level, so one operational event appears once with all relevant context attached.

What did the booth showcase?

The booth featured interactive demos built around common operational scenarios. Visitors walked through how the system would surface an event from a connected onboard source, correlate it with telematics and safety data, and present it as one consolidated record visible to agency staff.

Procurement teams compared the unified workflow against the stacks of separate video, telematics and safety hardware their fleets already run. Safe Fleet Transit used the Chicago expo to put the platform in front of a concentrated group of agency buyers over the four-day run.

How does Safe Fleet Transit position the launch?

The platform marks Safe Fleet Transit's first formal entry into AI-driven fleet analytics. The product positions the supplier alongside hardware-focused vendors and standalone software providers now serving North American transit operators.

Pricing and packaging details will shape how agencies evaluate the platform against the multiple data subscriptions they already maintain. The supplier has not yet disclosed tiered pricing or how the platform will be packaged alongside existing hardware relationships.

What comes after the expo?

The TRANSform Conference and Expo closes Oct. 7. Safe Fleet Transit said it expects to follow up with agency-level briefings and to refine the platform using operator feedback collected during the Chicago demonstrations. The expo materials do not yet include a general-availability date.
